Money

There are different types of financial support available to you after the age of 18, however what you are entitled to often depends on your current circumstances. If money is a barrier to learning there may well be financial support available to you so it is worth checking out.
What is Care to Learn?
If you are a parent or carer under 20 and you want to carry on studying or go back to education or training then Care to Learn can help with childcare costs. To discuss this in more detail contact the Care to Learn helpline on 0800 121 8989 or visit direct.gov.uk in the links tab.
What financial support is available for me if I want to enter Higher Education?
Generally financial support for students in Higher Education comes in two forms - money to help you pay for your studies (tuition fees) and money to help you pay your normal living expenses such as rent, food and bills (student loan). It is highly likely that you will have to repay much of this money when you leave HE and find work however it is worth pointing out that there is additional financial support available for those who come from lower income families and also that you do not need to repay money until you are earning above a certain salary every year.
What is an Adult Learning Grant?
If you are over 19 and are going back to study full time for your first Level 2 or Level 3 qualification then you may be able to get ?30 a week to help with costs whilst your studying. This will depend on your household income. Check out all the facts at direct.gov.uk in the links tab.
What are Dance and Drama Awards?
